Sew, Mamma, Sew! Giveaway Day

It's Sew, Mama, Sew! giveaway time again! I will be giving away one morsbag (fabric shopping bag) to at least one lucky winner. If I can finish more than one bag this week, there will be more than one winner. Of course I haven't finished any bags yet, but they will look something like this--

--except they will be made out of different fabric from thrifted sheets. (I promise the material I use will be like brand new. I'm pretty picky about the thrifted items I use to make my bags.) I'll post a picture of the completed bags when they're done.

To be entered to win, just leave a comment on this post (one comment per person and US residents only) about a handmade gift you have made or plan to make for somebody this holiday season. (If you have a link to the tutorial or a picture of your completed project, I would love to see them. I'm always looking for new ideas!) If you're not a crafter, leave a comment about the best handmade gift you ever received. I will use random.org to choose the winner(s) from all comments left by 12 midnight CST on Friday, December 17, 2010. I will ship the item(s) by December 20. Be sure to leave an e-mail address if I can't contact you through your comment. Thanks for participating!

This Christmas I'm giving a handmade coloring book to my 3-year-old niece. I'm going to stamp several cute animal images, etc. on 4"x6" index cards, which I will bind together and make a pretty cover for. I know she'll love it and scribble all over it :D

Such cute gifts! My birthday is Dec 17th, and winning would make the day extra-special.

I made a blanket last week for a friend going in the hospital. I didn't follow a pattern. I made one side super-soft micro fleece, and the other side cotton. I like blankets like that, because you have a warm or a cool side.

My handmade gifts this year are quilts :) Haven't gotten pics up but eventually [after they're gifted! lol]

I just bought the Wee Wonderfuls book and am going to make my 10 year old girl the topsy turvy doll in there! I let her look through the book and she also really likes the pillow with a doll on front and a pocket for doll clothes, so that might have to be made, too!

Last Christmas I made several gifts, from sewing shopping bags, puppets, and all the gift bags to making cakes as gifts. This year it has been slow! I actually have not made any sewed gifts this year, but may have to whip a couple up between now and Christmas. I received the most lovely hand made baby bunting, nightgown and bonnet as well as matching blanket for my daughter as a baby shower presents years ago.

I'm making lots of handmade gifts this year. So far my favorite is the apron I created for my Mother in Law. She reads my blog, so it's not up yet. After Xmas, I will be posting it to www.TheModernLadyBlog.com. Love the idea of upcycling thrifted fabric into a bag!

Awesome - love resuable bags. :)

I'm making pretty much all of our gifts this year...various things for various people. My son is getting a quilt if I an get it wrapped up in time. I'm most proud (at the moment) of a tablerunner and coaster set that I made for my grandmother. It's the first sewn project that I've given her, though I've been sewing for a long time. I blogged it: www.searchingforthegood@yahoo.com i also just wrapped up a matching family set of jammies for a friend that I'm pretty proud of, though I haven't posted about them yet.

Thank you for joining in giveaway day and for sharing a cool prize. :)

Oooh, I've been looking for a good reusable grocery bag, and these look fantastic!

I've been doing a lot of pottery painting lately, and for this holiday I made a plate for my 6 year old niece. She's wanted a mermaid plate for a year or so, and she seems old enough now that ceramics won't immediately break, so I painted her one. I just got it out of the kiln tonight and I'm so pleased with it!

Thanks for a great giveaway!
